Georgetown University Press

Georgetown University Press was founded in 1964 and is a publishing house that currently publishes forty new books a year. Georgetown University Press is a member of the Association of American University Presses (AAUP) and supports the academic mission of Georgetown University by publishing scholarly books and journals for a diverse, worldwide readership. These publications, written by an international group of authors, are peer-reviewed works of academic distinction. Georgetown University Press is known for publishing a broad range of intellectual perspectives that reflect the academic and institutional strengths of Georgetown University.

Georgetown University Press publishes books in five subject areas: bioethics; international affairs & human rights; languages & linguistics; political science, public policy & public management; and religion & ethics. Georgetown University Press is proud to publish Al-Kitaab the most widely used Arabic language learning textbook series at the college and professional level. The series begins with Alif-Baa: An Introduction to Arabic Letters and Sounds, and continues to help students achieve a high level of proficiency in the Arabic language. In addition, Georgetown University Press publishes language textbooks and interactive digital materials for languages like Spanish, Mandarin, Iraqi Arabic, Moroccan Arabic, Syrian Arabic, Business Japanese, Portuguese, Turkish and Tajiki.
