Sir John Baddeley, 1st Baronet

Sir John James Baddeley, 1st Baronet JP (22 December 1842 – 28 June 1926) was a British civil servant.

The son of John Baddeley and Frances Beresford was a Lieutenant and Sheriff of the City of London from 1908 to 1909. He was an Alderman of London in 1912 and further Justice of Peace for the County of London. Between 1921 and 1922, he was Lord Mayor of London. Knighted in 1909, Baddeley was made a Baronet, of Lakefield in the Parish of St Mary Stoke Newington in the County of London on 24 November 1922.

On 13 August 1868, he married firstly Mary Elizabeth Locks, daughter of William Locks, and on 25 July 1912, he married secondly Florence Bertha Mathews, daughter of Joseph Douglas Mathews. They had nine children, four daughters and five sons including the baronetcy's heir John Baddeley.
