Finea (Irish place name|Fiodh an Átha), which in English means 'wood of the ford' is a small village in County Westmeath on the border with County Cavan. It straddles the R394 road.

The village is known for its association with Myles "The Slasher" O'Reilly and Percy French who mentions the "Bridge of Finea" in his famous ballad 'Come Back Paddy Reilly'.

Finea lies on land between Lough Sheelin and Lough Kinale and the famous bridge crosses a river flowing between them.

Finea is also the birthplace of the world famous writer Dermot Healy.

Also writer Thomas Davis made Finea famous with his ballad 'The Flower of Finea'.

Finea is also famous for it's scenery, fishing and game shooting attracting tourists from over the world including Germany and the United Kingdom. Many of whom return every year.
