Great Northwest Athletic Conference

The Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) is a college athletic conference which operates in the Northwestern United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division II.

The conference was formed in 2001 when its original ten members split from the Pacific West Conference.

The league currently has 9 full members:

Football Memberships

* Central Washington University - North Central Conference
* Dixie State College of Utah - Will join the new GNAC football conference in 2008
* Humboldt State University - Rejoins the conference for football only beginning in the 2008 season.
* Western Oregon University - Football program independent
* Western Washington University - North Central Conference

Former Members

At the conclusion of the 2005-2006 season Humboldt State University left the GNAC for the California Collegiate Athletic Association.At the conclusion of the 2007-2008 season Seattle University left the GNAC as a part of their reclassification to NCAA Division I. They will compete as an NCAA Division I Independent.

The GNAC will resume its sponsorship of football in the fall of 2008. The GNAC will grant Dixie State College of Utah and Humboldt State University football-only GNAC membership, uniting the only five Division II programs in the far West in one conference.
