Carpathian was a hardcore punk band based in Australia. The band was formed in 2003, in Melbourne, Australia, and their final line-up comprised lead vocalist Martin Kirby, guitarists Josh Manitta and Lloyd Carroll, bass guitarist Ed Redclift and drummer David Bichard. Carpathian was made up of straight edge and non-straight edge members.[1]

Carpathian played at festivals such as the 2007 Australian Taste of Chaos the 2008 Soundwave festival.

Carpathian's line-up changed several times over the bands history; two guitarists were replaced in late 2006.[2] Former I Killed The Prom Queen singer Michael Crafter joined Carpathian in 2006. Vocalist Martin Kirby then moved to guitar, although Crafter left seven months later in February 2007, after which Kirby resumed his position as frontman.[3] Michael Crafter did not sing on any of Carpathian's recordings.

In 2008, Carpathian released their second studio album Isolation, which reached No. 19 on the ARIA Charts.[4]

In issue number 74 of Blunt magazine Kirby said:

"The last album I actually bought I can't remember. Our label Resist looks after me with most new records I want. That being said, the last record I received was a demo from this band Hollow in Newcastle. I was so into it I finally decided to start a record label..... Dead Souls. I plan to release their upcoming EP and some other stuff."[5]

Carpathian's final show was on 29 April 2011.
