"Beezus and Ramona" is the first of Beverly Cleary's books that focus on Ramona Quimby and her sister Beatrice (Beezus).

Beatrice "Beezus" Quimby is a girl who deals with her pesty sister Ramona. Such as when Beezus is taking an art class, Ramona shows up and tries stealing a lollipop from an older boy. Ramona also bumps her tricycle in the coffee table while Beezus and her friend Henry Huggins, are playing checkers. She also locks Henry's dog Ribsy in her bathroom because he ate Ramona's cookie. Ramona throws her own party unexpected by her parents and sister. She also writes cursive I's and T's in a library book checked out by Beezus. Ramona also ruins Beezus's birthday cakes. The first one she ruined while her mother was talking on the phone Ramona drops eggs into the cake batter, the second one she pretended to be Gretel(from Hansel and Gretel) and shoved her doll (pretending it was the witch) in the oven while the cake was baking. Aunt Beatrice later brings a cake with her to the house and Beezus says that sometimesshe doesn't love Ramona. Then she learns that's how sisters are, and how Aunt Beatrice and Mrs. Quimby fought when they were little.
