Catherine Karina Chmiel (born Katarzyna Karina Chmiel) is a Polish artist and illustrator who has created drawings and pictures on many different subjects. Her most notable work are likely those which depict and accompany the works of J. R. R. Tolkien. Chmiel is a regular contributor to the works of various publishing companies, including Prószyński i S-ka and Egmont She has also worked with many advertising agencies such as J. Walter Thompson, Leo Burnett and Saatchi & Saatchi.

Chmiel also enjoys studying zoology.
