Safe and Vault Technicians Association

The Safe and Vault Technicians Association (SAVTA) is North America's largest organization of safe and vault technicians. Established in 1986, it provides technical training at the annual SafeTech(tm) convention and offers two levels of certification. SAVTA is owned by the Associated Locksmiths of America.

Certifications

Certified Professional SafeTech

Certified Professional SafeTech(tm) (CPS) is an international trade qualification awarded to members of the Safe and Vault Technicians Association who have passed the required test.This is the first of two certification available from SAVTA. It is a prerequisite for the examination to become a Certified Master Safe Technician. The CPS accreditation is proctored by the Associated Locksmiths of America, as a part of their SafeTech(tm) Proficiency Registration Program (ST-PRP).

Certified Master Safe Technician (CMST)

Certified Master Safe Technician (CMST) is an international trade qualification awarded to members of the Safe and Vault Technicians Association who have passed the required tests. This is the highest level of certification available from SAVTA. Certified Professional SafeTechs(tm) are eligible to test for this certification at the annual SafeTech(tm) convention.The CMST accreditation is proctored by the Associated Locksmiths of America, as a part of their SafeTech(tm) Proficiency Registration Program (ST-PRP).
