Jean Elizabeth Coussins, Baroness Coussins, is an adviser on
corporate responsibilityand a member of the Better Regulation Commission. Lady Coussins is a member of the Advertising Standards Authorityand was until recently the Chief Executive of the Portman Group, a not–for–profit organisation that promotes sensible drinking by the consumer and responsible marketing by the industry.

In February 2007, it was announced by the
House of Lords Appointments Commissionthat she would be made a life peerand would sit as a Crossbencher, and her peeragewas gazetted as Baroness Coussins, of Whitehall Park in the London Borough of Islington, on 23 March 2007.
