Armenian Air Defense

The Armenian Air Defense is the anti-aircraft branch of the Armed Forces of Armenia. It was equipped and organized as part of the military reform program of Ter-Grigoriants.

“On the one hand, Armenia’s national system of air defense makes us happy,” said General Vladimir Mikhaylov. “On the other, we will keep helping you, including with means and forces existing at the Russian military base No. 102 which is stationed here.”

The Armenian Defense Ministry was established in the country on Supreme Council Chairman’s order. Vazgen Sargsyan was appointed to the post of defense minister. Later, the defense ministerial seat was handed over to Vazgen Manukyan, Vagharshak Harutyunyan and Serzh Sargsyan.
