"Bondi Rescue" is an Australian reality television program which is broadcast on Channel Ten. The program follows the day to day life of the lifeguards at work patrolling Bondi Beach, who ensure the safety of beach revelers.

The first three seasons of "Bondi Rescue" were broadcast in early 2006, 2007 and 2008, with episodes sometimes repeated later in the year. A spin-off, set in Bali, Indonesia, started screening from September 10, 2008. "Bondi Rescue" is also broadcast in the UK, New Zealand, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Germany, and on National Geographic Adventure.

Overview

The Bondi lifeguards perform around 2,500 rescues over the summer period, dealing with lost children, shark scares, sexual deviants, and thieves on the beach in addition to watching the water. Every once in a while celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Richard Branson, Steve Irwin, Bindi Irwin and the Indian Cricket Team also make appearances on their shores.

Footage for the show is shot during the preceding Australian summer (usually between November and February), with certain episodes reflecting incidents that have occurred during New Year's Day and Australia Day. Season three also featured footage of lifeguard trials and training exercises from the middle of the year.

Bondi Rescue: Bali

An eight-part spin-off series called "Bondi Rescue: Bali", set in Bali, Indonesia, premiered on Ten on September 10, 2008. The spin-off will follow several of the Bondi lifeguards as they are assigned to a two month stint at Kuta Beach, dealing with the more humid climate, a much larger beach and the absence of the rescue equipment they have back home.
