Burnaby Village Museum

The Burnaby Village Museum, commonly referred to as Heritage Village, is an open air museum in Burnaby, British Columbia located at Deer Lake Park. The museum spans 10 acres of land and contains buildings from the late 1880s to the early 1920s. The buildings form a "village," hence the museum's name. The buildings, originally from other parts of Canada, were purchased, dismantled and relocated to the museum by the museum's staff, who dress in period clothes, station themselves in a building and give a brief description of that building to visitors. The museum is designed to teach visitors what life was like in Burnaby during the time period from which the buildings came from.

The museum is also known for purchasing, restoring and exhibiting the C. W. Parker Carousel, also known as the Parker #119, a carousel built in 1912 by the C.W. Parker Company, a company which manufactured rides for amusement parks. The Carousel has 41 horses and continues to operate at a pavilion in the museum. The carousel's location at one of the museum's two entrances gave the entrance the name "Carousel Entrance".

The museum is open to the public for free on Canada Day where it has a special Canada Day celebration. A similar celebration occurs on Victoria Day.
