The Llibre dels fets (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈʎiβɾə ðəls ˈfets]. Original spelling: Libre dels feyts, literally in English 'Book of Deeds') is a collection of autobiographical chronicles of the reign (1213 – 1276) of James the Conqueror, King of Aragon and Count of Barcelona. It is written in Catalan in the first person and describes the life of James. Though written at his dictation and with his editing, the work was not James', but was written by scribes. The language of the works is popular and colloquial, representing the spoken tongue. The style is direct.
