Autonomy Progress Federalism Aosta Valley

Autonomy Progress Federalism Aosta Valley ("Vallée d'Aoste Autonomie Progrès Fédéralisme", APF) is an Italian coalition of parties active in Aosta Valley.

It was originally formed as an electoral list for the 2006 general election by three regionalist parties: Valdotanian Union (UV), Edelweiss Aosta Valley (SA) and Autonomist Federation (FA). The alliance was soundly defeated by the centre-left list Autonomy Liberty Democracy (ALD), both in the race for the Chamber of Deputies and for the Senate in 2006. For the Chamber Marco Viérin (SA, APF) lost 43.4% to 30.7% to Roberto Nicco (DS, ALD) [ [http://www.repubblica.it/speciale/2006/elezioni/camera/valledaosta.html Speciale elezioni 2006 - Camera - Valle d'Aosta ] ] , while in the Senate race incumbent senator Augusto Rollandin (UV, APF) was defeated 44.2% to 32.0% by Carlo Perrin (RV, ALD) [ [http://www.repubblica.it/speciale/2006/elezioni/senato/valledaosta.html Speciale elezioni 2006 - Senato - Valle d'Aosta ] ] .

The three regionalist parties presented again the list, simply named Aosta Valley, for the 2008 general election. Antonio Fosson (UV, VdA) defeated incumbent senator Carlo Perrin 41.4% to 37.4% [http://politiche2008.interno.it/politiche/senato080413/S020010000.htm] , while Ego Perron (UV, VdA) was narrowly defeated by incumbent deputy Roberto Nicco 39.1% to 37.8% [http://politiche2008.interno.it/politiche/camera080413/C270010000.htm] .

Under the new electoral law, the coalition fought together also the 2008 regional election, gaining 62% of the vote and a stable majority in the Regional Council (22 deputies out of 35). [ [http://elezioni.regione.vda.it/Default.aspx?idele=92&L=I Regionali 2008 ] ]
