Rathnure (Irish: "Rath an Iúir" meaning "fort of the yew trees") is a small village on the R731 regional road about km to mi | 12 | abbr=yes | precision=0 from the town of Enniscorthy, County Wexford, Ireland. It is one of Wexford's hidden beauties. The picturesque village is located at the foot of the Blackstairs Mountain, which borders County Carlow on the opposite side.

Attractions

Local attractions besides scenery include, the John Kelly Memorial and grave in Kilanne,the beautiful Monksgrange House,owned by the Hill family, built in 1769, it encompasses a Norman gallery, which also exhibits works by contemporary Irish artists such as William Scott, Harry Kernoff and Hilda Roberts. Monksgrange has frequently played host to the performances of the Blackstairs Opera.

Rathnure is famous for the Rathnure St. Annes Gaelic Athletic Association Club which is the most successful hurling club in county Wexford.Fact|date=June 2007 They have won the Wexford Senior Hurling Championship on twenty occasions with the Rackard brothers, (Nicky, Billy and Bobby) being their most successful players, other famous St. Annes hurlers are Martin Codd and Dan Quigley. Rathnure have also won the Leinster Senior Club Hurling Championship 5 times
