Rashi school

The Rashi School is a coeducational Reform Jewish Day School located in Newton, Massachusetts. This school is the only Boston area Reform Jewish Day School. The school's mission is to provide a dynamic, child-centered program of academic excellence that integrates rich secular and Jewish studies curricula and nurtures in its students critical minds and compassionate hearts.

The Rashi School, is known for its excellent academics mixed in conjunction with social doings. The academics are some of the best in its field, as well as the extra curricular programs such as athletics: baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, ultimate frisbee, and others like: theater,robotics, student leadership in the Middle which has a student President and Jr. President, and many others as well.This school also aims to provide its students with an educational setting based on a strong, fully integrated curriculum of secular and Jewish studies which mirrors contemporary American Jewish life. There is an ongoing intellectual challenge at Rashi. It is said that the thoughtfulness and sensitivity of the Rashi classroom environment is particularly appealing to parents as well as children.

Rashi was founded in 1986. In 2006 it had an enrollment of approximately 300 students in grades K-8.
