George Smith King (August 16, 1928–October 5, 2006) was the men's basketball coach at Purdue from 1965 to 1972. During his tenure, he compiled a 109-64 record. He won a Big Ten Championship, and took the school to its only modern National Championship appearance in 1969. He served as the school's athletic director following his coaching stint. He is a member of the Purdue Athletic Hall of Fame. He previously served as the head basketball coach at West Virginia, from 1961 to 1965, where he compiled a 102-43 record.

King played professional basketball during the 1950s as a member of the Syracuse Nationals and Cincinnati Royals. He was born in Charleston, West Virginia.

He was a member of the 1955 NBA Championship team with the Syracuse Nationals. In Game 7, King made the series-clinching free throws and later stole the ball away to win the championship.
