A paint thinner is a solvent used to thin oil-based paints, or as a cleaning agent.

Paint thinners include:
*Acetone
*Mineral spirits
*Mineral turpentine (turps)
*Wood turpentine
*Naphtha
*Toluene
*White spirit
*Xylene

Abuse

Some paint thinners, such as mineral turpentine, may be abused as inhalants.
