Swedish Army light infantry regiment , one of the few new formations raised in the 20th century. It was disbanded in 2000. The regiment was garrisoned in Lapland.History
The regiment traces its origins from a skiing battalion of
Norrbottens regemente that was created in 1910. This battalion in turn was garrisoned inKiruna in 1943 as Norrbottens regementes jägarbataljon i Kiruna (Norrbotten Regiment Jäger Battalion in Kiruna), and then becameArméns jägarskola (Army Jäger School) in 1945. The school was reorganised into Lapplands jägarregemente in 1975, with the designation I 22/Fo 66 (22nd Infantry Regiment, merged with the local defence area Fo 66). The designation was changed to I 22/GJ 66 in 1998 when Fo 66 was disbanded. The designation I 22 was also commonly used. Lapplands jägarregemente was disbanded in 2000.Campaigns
