Lapplands jägarregemente (Lapland Jäger Regiment), designations I 22, I 22/Fo 66 and I 22/GJ 66, was a Swedish Army light infantry regiment, one of the few new formations raised in the 20th century. It was disbanded in 2000. The regiment was garrisoned in Lapland.

History

The regiment traces its origins from a skiing battalion of Norrbottens regemente that was created in 1910. This battalion in turn was garrisoned in Kiruna in 1943 as Norrbottens regementes jägarbataljon i Kiruna (Norrbotten Regiment Jäger Battalion in Kiruna), and then became Arméns jägarskola (Army Jäger School) in 1945. The school was reorganised into Lapplands jägarregemente in 1975, with the designation I 22/Fo 66 (22nd Infantry Regiment, merged with the local defence area Fo 66). The designation was changed to I 22/GJ 66 in 1998 when Fo 66 was disbanded. The designation I 22 was also commonly used. Lapplands jägarregemente was disbanded in 2000.
