The Stourport High School & VIth Form Centre, or Stourport Language College and 6th form centre, opened to students in 1956Fact|date=June 2008, then in 2007 it re-opened as a secondary school. The school is located in the town of Stourport-on-Severn in Worcestershire, England. It was built to replace the Stourport Secondary Modern School, which is formerly Lickhill Middle. The current head teacher is Elizabeth QuinnFact|date=June 2008. The School is a specialised Language College offering a wide range of languagesWhat|date=June 2008. The school also offers trips to Japan, China, Germany, Spain, France and many others. At the end of the academic year 06/07 the school took on a second speciality in sport. The School also has a 6th form centre for further education. In 2007, the high school was "closed" and re-opened as The Stourport High School & VIth Form Centre, it now educates students between the ages of 11-18. The school also acquired the previous Burlish Middle School site, which is now the 6th form centre.Fact|date=June 2008The school is due to be demolished along with Burlish Primary and the 6th form centre in 2012 to make way for a new, larger state of the art high school, with a 6th form. Year eight students are taking their SATs a year early, whilst year nine students are taking a science GCSE two years early, this will be built upon into a total of three GCSEs in science. During 2007/2008 parts of the school were refurbished, and a brand new restaurant area was created, a student reception and ALF (Additional Learning Facility) were built.Fact|date=June 2008 The school's motto is Carpe Diem which means "Seize the day" in Latin.Fact|date=June 2008
