Syn (goddess)

Syn (goddess)

In Norse mythology, Syn is an Ásynja, or goddess, who according to "Gylfaginning" "guards the doors of the hall and shuts them against those who are not to enter". She is also invoked by defendants in trials and assemblies. In "Skáldskaparmál" her name is used in a kenning for "woman".
