Mount Bird

Mount Bird

Mount Bird is a stratovolcano, 1,765 metres (5,790 ft) high, standing about 7 miles (11 km) south of Cape Bird, the northern extremity of Ross Island. It was mapped by the British National Antarctic Expedition, 1901–04, under Robert Falcon Scott, and apparently named by them after Cape Bird. Shell Glacier and Endeavour Piedmont Glacier lie on its slopes.
