Đuro Đaković (factory)

Đuro Đaković is a Croatian heavy industrial concern supplying farm equipment, military vehicles, power plant equipment, railway equipment, trams, and steam and diesel locomotives. Now located in Slavonski Brod, Croatia, Đuro Đaković continues to produce military, farm, railway, and other equipment today since 1921.

The central operating company is Đuro Đaković Holding d.d., and it has stocks listed at the Zagreb Stock Exchange. The majority stakeholder is the Croatian Government, at over 61% as of 2007. The group is composed of:

Civilian factory

Locomotives

Since 1926, Đuro Đaković constructed various steam locomotives for the Yugoslav State Railways and exports to other countries.

In 1935, the first standard gauge locomotive was constructed.

From 1981 to 1985, Đuro Đaković purchased a licence to build locomotives from General Motors designs to suit their needs. In addition to building the locomotives for their country, Đuro Đaković also exported 20 G22W's to the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways in 1982.

  • M-84A4 - originally created in the 1980s Yugoslavia as a local version of the T-72;
  • LOV APC - originally created during the 1990s war as first Croatian local APC;
  • M-95 Degman - new Main Battle Tank based on experimental M-91 Vihor with significant modifications.
