Tincleton

Tincleton

Tincleton is a village in south west Dorset, England, situated on the River Frome five miles east of Dorchester. The village has a population of 142 (2001). The name "Tincleton" has nothing to do with the names of nearby villages, such as Puddletown, Piddletrenthide and Piddlehinton. The name actually comes from "Tin la Ton", or "farm in a valley".
