Sergey Sergeyevich Smirnov (geologist)

Sergei Sergeevich Smirnov ("Смирнов, Сергей Сергеевич" in Russian) (9.4(16).1895 — 8.20.1947) was a Russian geologist and mineralogist, academician of the Soviet Academy of Sciences (1943).

The ridge Dorsa Smirnov on the Moon was named after him.
