Muitalægje

Muitalægje

Muitalægje was the first Sámi newspaper, published in the Norwegian town of Vadsø. Its full name was Muittalægje čuvgetusa haliduvvidi sami gaskast[1] (Tales for Sámi hungry for education/culture). It was published for the first time in 1873 and the last time in 1875[2] by the Norwegian police chief of Polmak Christian Andreasen[3], who also wrote the majority of its articles.
