Coseley Urban District

Coseley Urban District was a local government district which was created in 1894.[1]

It was made up of the villages of Brierley, Woodsetton, Ettingshall and Coseley, which had previously been part of the ancient manor of Sedgley.

The urban district council was based at a building in the town centre (A.K.A. Roseville).

Coseley urban district ceased to exist in 1966 when, along with most of Sedgley and Brierley Hill, some of it was incorporated into the County Borough of Dudley. Most of the Ettingshall area of the district was incorporated into the County Borough of Wolverhampton.

The former Coseley Urban District Council offices were taken over by Dudley County Borough Council and were demolished soon afterwards.
