"In Love and Death" is the second studio album by The Used. It was released on September 28 2004 and has since been certified gold. [ [http://www.metacritic.com/music/artists/used/inloveanddeath] ] This was the first album for which Alex Pardee did the artwork, and he has done all artwork for The Used since. The title and music reference a number of tragic events that surrounded vocalist Bert McCracken during the album's production, notably the death of his pregnant girlfriend. The themes of the album are notably darker when compared with its self-titled predecessor, with considerably less screaming in favor of a more melodic sound.

Reissue

The album was re-released on May 3, 2005 with the addition of a bonus track, a cover of David Bowie and Queen's "Under Pressure", in which they collaborated with My Chemical Romance. An article in "Kerrang!" Magazine said that the bonus track was added to later pressings of the album without the band's permission.Fact|date=July 2008
