Background

Steven R. Schuh was first elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in 2006. He serves along with fellow Republicans Donald H. Dwyer, Jr. and Nicholaus R. Kipke in District 31, which is located in Anne Arundel County, MD. Schuh and Kipke defeated incumbent Joan Cadden and took the seat left open by John R. Leopold, who won election as County Executive for Anne Arundel County.

Education

Schuh has an extensive Ivy League education with a B.A. from Dartmouth College, which he earned in 1982, and an M.B.A. from Harvard University. He also earned an M.S. degree from Johns Hopkins University.

Career

Schuh is the founder and Managing Member of Schuh Advisory, LLC. He was previously a Managing Director at Alex. Brown & Sons, Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse First Boston.

Active in his community, Schuh is president of the Skywater Foundation, a non-profit foundation that supports education, health care research, child leadership, pregnant women in crisis and Christian outreach. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for Severn School and serves as a Director of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Schuh is also Vice Chairman of the American Red Cross of Central Maryland and is a Charter Member of The 100 Club of Anne Arundel County.

Within the Maryland House of Delegates, Schuh is a member of the important Appropriations Committee and serves on the Health and Human Resources and Pension Oversight Subcommittees.

Schuh supports limited government and lower taxes, respect for life and American Citizenship, Second Amendment rights, policies to promote economic growth, and environmental stewardship.
