Tom Dunne

Thomas Joseph Dunne, also known as Tom Dunne, is an Irish radio DJ. He presented the "Pet Sounds" show for Today FM, from 7.00pm to 10.00pm Monday to Thursday which plays a mix of alternative and new music; and frequently airs songs before they enter mainstream radio during the day . He has also published three collections of his favourite songs by Irish or Ireland-connected artists, known as the "Tom Dunne Collections". In early 2006, he released The Definitive Tom Dunne Vol. 01: Pet Picks 2000-2006, a compilation of some of the most popular tracks from his radio show, featuring artists as diverse as Radiohead, Sufjan Stevens, The Streets and Elliott Smith.

He is also lead singer and songwriter for the band Something Happens who though not now recording occasionally occasionally come out of retirement to play low key gigs from their back catalogue in Whelans Dublin and other venues.

Tom also contributes the voice of Dr Bill Cullen to Today FM's Gift Grub.He writes a longstanding, popular weekly column in the Evening Herald (Dublin, Ireland) every Thursday in their HQ Magazine city entertainment supplement (and formerly in It's Friday Magazine, the Friday supplement).

Tom has now left Today FM and now will begin presenting a new morning talk show on Newstalk 106-108 in September which will broadcast from 9 a.m. - 12p.m which will started on September 1st 2008.

Television

Dunne is the presenter of the ITV series Planet Rock Profiles. Dunne also presents a mobile tv show The Hive on the 3 Ireland mobile network.

His birthday is April 19th. Married to Audrey and they have two daughters.
