World Premier Sports

World Premier Sports is a World Pro Wrestling Championship Sanctioning Body. Not to be confused with a Pro Wrestling Company (which promotes shows and wrestling events), a Sanctioning Body simply legitimizes a World Title or Championship.

World Premier has recognized a single World Heavyweight Wrestling Champion since 1948 when Midwest Wrestling Association Champion, Orville Brown, was crowned the first NWA World Heavyweight Champion. The Sanctioning Body has recognized the lineage of the NWA World Heavyweight Title from that point until recognition was withdrawn on February 25, 2007 due to a number of disputes with the National Wrestling Alliance.

The board of directors, meeting in Kansas City, Missouri decided that after a period of 30 days (time allocated to severing ties with the National Wrestling Alliance) a new world champion would be recognized. Due to growing television exposure as well as its company philosophy the Midwest Wrestling Alliance's heavyweight champion, Eric Fantabulous, was voted as best to represent the World Premier Sports ideology and therefore was crowned World Champion on March 25, 2007.

World Premier has been associated with various combat sports including boxing, pro wrestling, and martial arts since its inception. The organization was originally a Pro Wrestling Company based in Kansas City called the Midwest Wrestling Association. Future endeavors include supporting merchandise sales for the MWA as well as expanding the brand into other markets. As previously mentioned, through the Midwest Wrestling Alliance, television markets are already receiving some deal of exposure and the area of viewership is continually growing.

Current President of World Premier Sports is Elliot Shumaker. World Premier is a Kansas City, Missouri based organization.
