Youth of the Progress Party (Norway)

Youth of the Progress Party (Norway)

.

The current leader of the organization is Ove Vanebo.

The progress-party's youth organization is clearly more liberal than the progress-party itself is. Both in regards of economics and politics in general, this is the case. In the organization's manifest [http://www.fpu.no/images/stories/manifest_06-08.doc] , it states that "The government should not use economic politics to influence the economic development", in stark contrast to the Progress Party's keynesian economic politics. It also wishes to replace the public safety net with private insurance arrangements and privatize some schools and hospitals, and make the public hospitals "compete" with the private owned hospitals, so that they can provide a better service for their patients. When it comes to social politics, the youth party has a much more liberal approach. The youth party does not support gay marriage in a common church, thus they do support them in getting married in a humanitarian church, due to religiously-influenced views that state that it is against the bible and what the church is built on.

The first and foremost political principle for FpU is the individual freedom, and the right to do as you want, as long as it don't bother anyone else or breaks any religious dogmas. A much used slogan, "my freedom ends where yours start", illustrate that in a clear way.
