Sigfried "Siggi" Held (born
August 7 1942 ) is a former German football player and now a football coach. He played as a centre-forward.Born in Freudenthal,
Sudetenland , his first football club wasKickers Offenbach . In 1965 he became a player in the Bundesliga withBorussia Dortmund . During his career he played 442 games in the Bundesliga, for Dortmund, Offenbach andBayer 05 Uerdingen . He also made 41 appearances for the German national team, including the vice-world championship in 1966.After his retirement as a professional player in 1981 he became a football coach - 1982-83 for
FC Schalke 04 ,1986-90 for the Iceland National Football Team, 1989-90 forGalatasaray , 1991-93 forAdmira Wacker Wien , 1993-95 forDynamo Dresden , 1995 forGamba Osaka and 1996-98 forVfB Leipzig .2001-2003 he was coach for the national team of Malta. In 2004 he became coach for the
Thailand national football team , but was suspended after only 5 months.
