.tw is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the Republic of China (commonly known as "Taiwan"). The registry is maintained by TWNIC. The actual registrations are done through commercial registrars similar to other parts of the world. Neulevel has entered into a partnership with TWNIC to market .tw outside Taiwan.

Registrations are at the second level or at the third level beneath various names:

* edu.tw: for educational and academic institutions
* gov.tw: for Republic of China government agencies
* mil.tw: for the Military of the Republic of China
* com.tw: for companies or firms (Taiwanese or foreign) registered under the laws of their country
* net.tw: for network or telecommunications license holders
* org.tw: for non-profit organizations (Taiwanese or foreign) established according to the laws of their country
* idv.tw: for individuals (must verify their identity by e-mail)
* game.tw: unrestricted (but registrant must verify their identity by e-mail)
* ebiz.tw: unrestricted (but registrant must verify their identity by e-mail)
* club.tw: unrestricted (but registrant must verify their identity by e-mail)
* .tw: unrestricted

Domain names in Chinese characters may also be registered at the second level. Furthermore, any registrant of a standard domain name who has chosen a domestic registrar may automatically get two further domain names in Chinese characters beneath the following second-level domains: 網路.tw, 組織.tw and 商業.tw. These second-level domains correspond to .net.tw, .org.tw and .com.tw but they are not recognized by ICANN.
