Zbarazkyi Raion (district) of theTernopil Oblast (province) of westernUkraine . The town is located on theHoryn River , a right tributary of the Prypiat. The population of the town is 3,469. In 1960, Vyshnivets was changed from the status of avillage , to that of anUrban-type settlement .The town served a family seat of the
Ruthenian princely Vyshnevetsky family which received its name from the town.Architectural landmarks in the town include a 15th century castle; and palace and park, constructed in the 18th century by the Vyshnevetskyi family.
