"Blood, Bunny, Larkhall" was the first single by Surrey based rock band Reuben from the new album In Nothing We Trust. It was also the second release on the new label Hideous Records, after the DVD What Happens In Aldershot Stays In Aldershot. It was released for download and on CD on Monday 18th June 2007. The CD version of the single was originally limited to 500 copies, much like the band's debut single. But has since been changed to 1000. The video for the single was recorded in Great Yarmouth with Jabez, the company who filmed and produced the band's recent DVD, What Happens In Aldershot Stays In Aldershot.

The Video

The music video was available to stream online from midday on May 7 , 2007 ( [http://www.wordsfromreuben.co.uk/2007holding/index.php link] ), with a teaser outtake made available on YouTube three weeks prior ( [http://youtube.com/watch?v=9qfir2LiyZk link] ). It was directed by Jamie in collaboration with The Leftside, a video production company who also produced Reuben's DVD. Shot in Norfolk and Farnham over a two day period, the video is serious in tone, portraying war as the central theme. This presents a departure from previous Reuben videos, most of which are more light-hearted than Blood, Bunny, Larkhall. For example, the video for the 2004 single Freddy Kreuger portrays the band members and friends in humorous fake moustaches. The video also incorporates clips from ‘The Homecoming,’ a short film by Gavin Maitland.

Trivia

*The track "Girls on top" is a cover of an old song by Farnborough band Dreyfuss.
*The song "What's Good For Me" was originally recorded during the pre-production for Reuben's debut album Racecar Is Racecar Backwards, along with 37 other tracks, but didn't make it onto the album. The version on "Blood, Bunny, Larkhall" is a slightly edited re-mastering of this 2003 recording.
