Sir Roger Townshend, 1st Baronet

Sir Roger Townshend, 1st Baronet (c. 1596-1 January 1637), was an English Member of Parliament.

Townshend was the son of Sir John Townshend. In 1617 he was created a Baronet, of Rainham in the County of Norfolk. He later sat as Member of Parliament for Orford from 1621 to 1622 and for Norfolk from 1628 to 1629. In 1619 he began construction on the family seat of Raynham Hall in Norfolk.

Townshend died in January 1637 and was succeeded in the baronetcy by his eldest son Roger. His younger son Horatio succeeded to the baronetcy in 1648 and was later elevated to the peerage as Viscount Townshend.
