Guldara District

Guldara District

Guldara District is located in the northwestern part of Kabul Province in Afghanistan. It has a population of 10,000 people, including new returnees (2002 official UNHCR est.). Guldara district borders with Parvan Province to the west, Istalif District to the north, Qarabagh, Kalakan and Mir Bacha Kot districts to the east, and Shakardara District to the south. Its headquarter is Guldara, which is a village in the norteastern part of the district. The Guldara district was part of Shakardara district until Burhanuddin Rabbani's government. Almost the whole district is destroyed. It is small district with isolated villages. Main villages near the main road to Kabul are destroyed.
