The 1995 European Grand Prix (formally the XL Grand Prix of Europe) was a Formula One motor race held on October 1, 1995 at the Nürburgring, Nürburg, Germany. It was the 14th race of the 1995 Formula One season. The race, contested over 67 laps, was won by Michael Schumacher for the Benetton team after starting from third position. Jean Alesi finished second in a Ferrari, with David Coulthard, who started the race from pole position, third in a Williams car.cite web |url=http://www.formula1.com/results/season/1995/127/ |publisher=The Official Formula 1 Website |title=1995 European Grand Prix |accessdate=2008-08-20]

Jean Alesi led by 44 seconds and a spare pitstop over Michael Schumacher at one stage, but Schumacher hauled him in and overtook him on the penultimate lap.

Reigning British Touring Car Champion Gabriele Tarquini made a one-off return to Formula One, replacing Ukyo Katayama in the Tyrrell following the Japanese driver's huge crash at the previous race.
