MC Randy & D.J. Jonco

MC Randy & D.J. Jonco were a hip hop duo from Madrid, Spain, who released an eponymous album in 1990.

As their names show, MC Randy (J. I. Pascual) was the MC, rapper or vocalist and lyricist, while D.J. Jonco (L. C. Esteban) was the DJ, disc jockey, on charge of the instrumental base. With a production by Rebeldes Sin Pausa, they got their theme "¡Hey, pijo!" in "Rappin Madrid" (1989) the second compilatory record of hip hop made in Spain. "¡Hey, pijo!" was the first and most aired single of the compilation. It tried to be a self-affirmative anthem for the "urban tribe" of Spanish b-boys, opposing the "tribe" of pijos (posh, rich kids).

As a response to "¡Hey, pijo!", a one-song musician issued a hip house theme, titled "Soy pijo" ("I am "pijo").

After the good results of"¡Hey pijo!", the duo's misogynist rap "Tía, déjame en paz" ("Woman, leave me alone") was included in a compilation titled "Rap de aquí" ("Rap from here" 1990). Some of the artists who had taken part in "Rappin Madrid", like Sweet also repeated in "Rap de aquí", but most of them never again released any other work. "Rap de aquí" also included pieces by Spanish rappers from outside Madrid.
