Lyrics

The lyrics of "7 Days" mainly talk about what David does during a week with a girl.

He met a girl on Monday, and felt enough of a social connection to proceed by taking her out for a drink on Tuesday. This night of alcoholic consumption resulted in a sexual relationship, causing Craig and his partner to "make love" on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. By this time, an emotional connection had set in, prompting them to merely "chill" on Sunday.

Chart performance

The single reached number one on the UK singles chart, spending fifteen weeks inside the top 75. It was also David's only top ten single in the U.S.
