Lostprophets are a Welsh rock band formed in Pontypridd in 1997 under the name Lozt Prophetz.cite web

] Lostprophets formed with two members from the rock band Public Disturbance, which featured drummer Ian Watkins and guitarist Mike Lewis. Neither member initially left Public Disturbance, although Watkins quit in 1998 and Mike Lewis later in 2000.

The band rose to fame in United Kingdom with their début album "Thefakesoundofprogress", which became a success and was certified gold in the UK. Their next studio album, "Start Something", earned Lostprophets international success, selling 2.5 million copies worldwide and achieving gold certification in the United States and platinum in the UK.cite web

] The second track from "Start Something", "Last Train Home", reached number one on the Modern Rock Tracks charts. The third album, "Liberation Transmission", put the band at the top of the UK Albums Chart for the first time, and was also certified gold in the UK.
