Philadelphia Phoenix is a women's football team in the NWFA based in Philadelphia. The NWFA season is played from April - June, with playoffs extending into July. The Phoenix's home games for the 2008 season will be at 7 p.m. Saturday nights, at Northeast High School, 1601 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, with the exception of the games on May 17th and 31st, which will be played at 2 p.m. at Washington High School.

They are in the Northern conference, East Division with the Baltimore Burn and the New Jersey Titans.

The Phoenix were founded in 2001 as the Philadelphia Liberty Belles, and won the NWFA Championship that year. In 2002, the Belles lost in the semi-final playoff round, and along with a change in ownership, the team was reformed as the Philadelphia Phoenix heading into the 2003 season.

=Current personnel=Most participants on this team play dual roles as the rosters are really small.

2007 Season

The 2007 season began on April 14th with a 0-6 loss to the Baltimore Burn. Before the next game there was a major staffing change with the head coach's departure. No individual was assigned as a head coach between the first game and the next one versus the Central PA Vipers. Their first home game in 2007 was an April 21st trouncing of the Central PA Vipers, 41-0 holding the Vipers to a total of 29 yards of offense. The third game of the season was in Connecticut to play the Crush on April 28th but ended with a disappointing loss at 20-14. The Phoenix traveled to Pittsburgh on May 12th, falling to the Passion 7-53. The rematch vs. Baltimore at home was a close one for Philly, but the Burn scored in overtime, winning the game 8-14. Connecticut travelled to Philadelphia June 2nd and won a hard-fought game, 27-14. The final game of the season for the Phoenix was at home vs. Pittsburgh, ending the season with a 40-0 loss.
The Phoenix improved as the 2007 season progressed, adjusting to a mostly rookie team and a series of coaching changes. They will focus on training, recruiting, and conditioning in the offseason and look forward to the start of the 2008 NWFA season.
