Tom Chambers (actor)

Tom Chambers (born May 22, 1977 is from Parwich, [ [http://www.bbc.co.uk/derby/content/articles/2008/09/19/tom_chambers_strictly_dancing_20080919_feature.shtml Chambers nervous ahead of Strictly debut] , BBC] Derbyshire, England) is a British actor, best known for his role as Sam Strachan in the BBC medical drama Holby City. Tom has starred opposite Matthew Rhys and Kate Ashfield in the British film "Fakers".

Tom attended the "Guildford School of Acting".

Tom is currently appearing in the sixth series of Strictly Come Dancing which began on 20 September 2008. He is partnered with Camilla Dallerup. So far, he had received positive comments from all four judges, and there is friendly competition between he and fellow competitor, former England rugby player Austin Healy. Healy is partnered with Erin Boag

Tom is set to marry Clare Harding on 19 October 2008. He first met Clare when he was at the same school as her in Repton. He fell in love with her when he was just 20 years old, but she was just 15 years old. However, Tom had a near death experience when a crazed passenger hijacked a flight from Glasgow to Kenya, leaving the plane to plunge over 35,000 feet. Tom described it as the 'most terrifying experience of my life.' Two years afterwards, Clare was nearly killed in a car accident, and they then decided to get married. The couple have had to move their wedding from a Saturday to a Sunday to prevent it clashing with Strictly, and the venue will be their shared former school where they met.
