Early life

In high school, Corbin was named an all-American in cross country. In 1996, she was given the honor of being a torch bearer for the 1996 Summer Olympics.[2]

Corbin attended the University of California, Los Angeles from 1996 to 2000. She was a member of the UCLA cross country team from 1996 to 1998. She received a Bachelor of Science in Sociology in June 2000.[3]

Career

Corbin was hired by TechTV in 2001. She started out as a production assistant, but quickly worked her way up in the company eventually becoming an on-air personality. She became lead anchor for the prime-time news program TechLive. While anchoring for TechLive, Jessica made weekly remote appearances on CNN Headline News. She also was a frequent contributor on The Screen Savers as well as the host of Fresh Gear.[2]

On March 25, 2004, Comcast's G4 gaming channel announced a merger with TechTV. This move became hugely controversial among loyal fans of TechTV. Around May 6, G4 announced the termination of 250 employees from the San Francisco office by July 10, 2004, allowing approximately 80 to 100 employees to transition to G4's main office in Los Angeles, California if they agreed to relocate there.[4]

After the purchase, Corbin went on to host Love's a Trip, a reality television program which aired on the Style Network.[3]

In 2005, she starred as Carolyn in the movie One More Round.[5]

Corbin has also appeared on podcast This Week in Tech episode 11 with former TechTV personalities such as Leo Laporte, Patrick Norton, Roger Chang and Robert Heron.[2]

On September 26, 2006, Kevin Rose's Revision3 relaunched with new shows and hosts. Jessica Corbin was one of these new additions, sharing hosting duties with Wil Wheaton and fellow TechTV veteran Hahn Choi. InDigital covered the newest gadgets and electronics, but Revision3 decided to discontinue it. The last episode aired on September 26, 2007, with its twenty-sixth episode.

From September 28, 2007 to January 4, 2008, Corbin co-hosted Tekzilla with Patrick Norton. The show, reminiscent of The Screen Savers, discusses gadgets, tech tips, and do-it-yourself projects. Her most recent guest-appearance on the show was January 18, 2008.

On January 16, 2008, Jessica debuted as the host of the new The Digg Reel podcast playing the top-rated videos submitted on the social news website digg.com. She then moved on to another new Revision3 show, popSiren, along with Sarah Lane. On the July 10, 2008 episode of popSiren, Sarah Lane announced that Jessica had left the Revision3 network.[6]

Corbin has a few famous relatives. She is the granddaughter of singer Pat Boone and niece of singer and theater actress, Debby Boone.
