Southern Sami ) is a mountain range on the border betweenNorway andSweden , in the countiesSør-Trøndelag andJämtland .Central in the area is the mountain ridge starting with Lillsylen in the north, passing over the highest point
Storsylen of 1,762 m, and further to Storsola (1,728 m) in the south. Traversal of the ridge is a popular trip for experienced hikers, and is easiest from the south to the north, due to a scrambling point some 100 m south of the Storsylen summit. There are a number of mountain cabins in the area.
Norwegian Mountain Touring Association has the cabins Schultzhytta in Roltdalen, Storerikvollen and Nedalshytta byNesjøen . On the Swedish side there is Blåhammarens Fjällstation, Sylarnas Fjällstation and Fjällstuga Helags.
