Hrvatski Band Aid

Hrvatski Band Aid

Hrvatski Band Aid ( _en. Croatian Band Aid) is a Croatian supergroup which originally collaborated on the charity single "Moja domovina" (My Homeland) in 1991 as the Croatian War of Independence was beginning.

"Moja domovina" was arranged by Nikša Bratoš while the music was performed by Damir Lipošek, Vedran Božić and Husein Hasanefendić.

The full list of involved singers included: Doris Dragović, Oliver Dragojević, Jasna Zlokić, Danijela Martinović, Sanja Doležal, Meri Cetinić, Dino Dvornik, Aki Rahimovski, Matko Jelavić, Emilija Kokić, Severina Vučković, Arsen Dedić, Zorica Kondža, Boris Novković, Jasmin Stavros, Ivo Amulić, Vlado Kalember, Krunoslav Slabinac, Ivo Robić, Gabi Novak, Tereza Kesovija, Tatiana Cameron (then known as "Tajči"), Josipa Lisac, Zvonko Špišić, Dragutin Mlinarec, Đuka Čaić, Zdravko Škender, Ivica Šerfezi, Ljupka Dimitrovska, Dalibor Brun, Milo Hrnić, Mišo Kovač, Davor Gobac, Stanko Šarić, Zdenka Vučković, Jura Stublić, Mladen Bodalec, and Ljiljana Nikolovska.

Apart from its humanitarian purpose, the group was significant in that it marked the beginning of an independent Croatian music scene and the end of the Yugoslavian music scene. Among those rock groups who adopted a firm Croatian identity and participated in the single were Film, Novi fosili, Magazin, Parni Valjak, Psihomodo Pop and Prljavo Kazalište.

Hrvatski Band Aid, often simply known as Band Aid in Croatia, has recorded more charity songs since, although none as popular as their original. Other artists who have participated in the project since include Massimo Savić, Marko Perković, Slobodan Mišević, Ivana Kindl, Ivana Banfić, Giuliano, Goran Karan, Hari Rončević and Žanamari Lalić. Many of the original singers have also continued to contribute to the group.
