Harry Pollitt (engineer)

Harry Pollitt was Locomotive Engineer of the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway from 1893-1897 and its successor, the Great Central Railway, from 1897-1900.

He personally saw off the first Great Central passenger service from Marylebone on 15 March 1899.

He was succeeded by John G. Robinson, when the post was restructured and redesignated Chief Mechanical Engineer.
