History

Northeast building

Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center recently opened a new building, called the Northeast building. It includes a laboratory, imaging department, surgery wing, intensive care unit, obstetrics and neonatal intensive care unit, GI lab, cardiac catheterization lab, and 128 private patient rooms.

Trivia

This hospital is across the street from Walt Disney Studios. Walt Disney died in this hospital from lung cancer caused by smoking in 1966. John Ritter, who was born in this hospital, also died there on September 11, 2003.
