Maildubh

Maildubh [Mailduib, Maeldubh, Maildulf, Meldun.] was an Irish monk of the seventh century. He in 642 [ [http://www.davidforward.co.uk/history/history.php Malmesbury Memories - A Brief History of Malmesbury ] ] settled and founded a school in the west of England. This was in the place that became Malmesbury. He is recorded also at Selwood Forest. Among his pupils were Aldhelm, the founder of Malmesbury Abbey, and Daniel of Winchester.
